Holiday Recipe: Easy Layer Bars

When I think of Christmas, many things come to mind, especially baking holiday treats. There's something  about preparing a homemade dessert to share with family and friends that feels so special to me. When I think of having our own kiddies (in a long, long time from now haha), I imagine them pulling a chair up to the counter and helping me bake during the holidays- Christmas music playing the background, the tree all lit up, and tiny (messy) hands sneaking small bites :) It makes my heart happy!

Now I know Christmas is the season of "the cookie," but I wanted to give you all a few recipes that actually aren't cookie related! Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be sharing some of my favorite desserts that are always at our kitchen table during the holiday season! Starting with these delicious easy layer bars. INGREDIENTS

1 cup semi sweet chocolate morsels

1 cup butterscotch morsels

1 cup sweetened coconut flakes

1 cup chopped pecans

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

1 & 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

3 tablespoons sugar

Directions

Step 1: Make the crust. Mix 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, 1 & 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs, and 3 tablespoons sugar together in bowl. Pour crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9x12 inch pan and press down evenly throughout. 

Step 2: Pour semi sweet chocolate morsels, butterscotch, coconut flakes, and chopped pecans evenly on top of crust mixture. 

Step 3: Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk on top. Distribute as evenly as possible.

Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Step 5: Once cooled, cut into pieces and serve!
