Fall At Eckert's-Boyd Orchard

October has finally arrived and I'm welcoming it with open arms and a big smile on my face. It's my favorite time of year, filled with so many fun festivities around the Bluegrass. Between the gorgeous weather, trees changing color, bonfires, pumpkin spice everything, and so much more, I just can't pick a favorite! One thing I love doing each year is visiting the local orchard; the beautiful scenery, picking pumpkins, stocking up on delicious jams, and, of course, THE DONUTS!

I am so excited to partner with Eckert's-Boyd Orchard on this post and share the experience I had on their beautiful property! Located in Versailles, Kentucky (just outside of Lexington), it's nothing but a scenic drive to get there. One of my favorite things about Lexington is that it's completely surrounded by beautiful horse farms and rolling hills- the view never gets old :) Justin and I went straight to the orchard field (via tractor ride) to pick our apples and scope out potential pumpkins to bring home.

Instead of hopping back on the tractor, we opted for a leisurely walk back to the main building because the weather was just gorgeous. We obviously don't have kids, so we didn't go too far into all of the activities they have available for children, but the corn maze, giant playground, and jump pad I'm sure do not disappoint! It's such a family-friendly place, with so much to do, it would be the perfect weekend or day/evening activity with your little ones this season.

After leaving the picking fields, we made our way over to the general store to pick up a few goodies to take home. If things like jams, apple butter, honey, donuts, popcorn, and super cute fall decor are your thing, then I HIGHLY recommend spending some quality time in their store! Haha After snagging some items from the shop and a few 'fantasy' pumpkins to decorate our front porch, we called it quits for the day.

Parking and general entry to Eckert's-Boyd Orchard is free, but there is an admission fee ($5-$12) for children and adults to have access to areas such as the playground and field picking. You can find more details like their hours, fees, and events at the Versailles, Kentucky location HERE

If you're local to the Lexington area, I hope you go check it out this season!  Whether it's a day to spend with your kids, or a reason to get out and enjoy the fall weather with a spouse, friend, or by yourself, I highly recommend making a visit to Eckert's-Boyd Orchard! And while you're there, please have at least one or two extra donuts for me :)

Happy Fall! XoXo- BB
