Last week Justin and I randomly decided to head to Indianapolis for the day. It's only a few hours from Lexington and since we don't have kids yet, it's pretty easy for us to just hit the road! We have good friends in Indy who recently had a baby, so I was pretty excited to see them and get some baby snuggles in :) Justin was in the mood to check out some local breweries, so even though I don't drink, I was along for the ride.
We mainly stayed in the Fountain Square area, and checked out Chilly Water Brewing Company and Hotel Tango Distillery. I couldn't tell you a thing about the beer, but Chilly Water had amazing sandwiches (and great Diet Coke) and Hotel Tango was beautiful- it had an industrial meets rustic vibe- we really liked it! After a few stops, we made our way to see our friends to catch up with them and for those baby snuggles!
I knew it was going to be a long day in the car, so I wanted to make sure I was comfortable, but looked decent enough to be out in public. Normally on road trips, it's sweats and tennis shoes, but I knew I needed to be a little more put together than that. I opted for this SUPER soft birdie tee that pretty much goes with everything! I bought these jeans in the morning before we left for Indy because they were on major sale and I just couldn't pass them up. They're very flattering and offer just the right amount of stretch. I love that they aren't overly distressed, too. I kept it simple with one of my favorite pairs of New Balance sneakers. The ones I'm wearing are old from the J. Crew x New Balance collection, but I've linked some of my favorite and similar styles below.
Last, but not least, I went with this off-white cardigan that I've basically been living in for the past few weeks. It's lightweight enough to transition into Spring, but still keeps you warm and is so cozy (it also comes in black)! I also brought this adorable blush bomber jacket as another option- just in case :) I bought mine during the Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale, and it's no longer available through their website, but I found the same one through a different retailer. This jacket is very light weight and the color is beautiful (also comes in lavender)- perfect for spring! Be sure to size up if you want a more loose fit!
We had such a great time and loved exploring Indianapolis a little more than we have in the past! What are some of your favorite things to do in the moment? Justin and I are heading back to Indiana for the weekend to visit family, and I'm excited to see everyone! Hope you all have a great weekend!
