Happy Summer! Much like everywhere else, the heat and humidity is in full-force lately, which means less is more when it comes to how I style my outfits. While I may have a slight obsession with purchasing denim jeans, I figured it was time to add some shorts into the mix. I have a couple of pairs that I pulled out from last year, but felt the need to revamp the shorts section and there's no better time like the present ;)
When I started trying on old pairs, I noticed very quickly HOW short and uncomfortable I felt in most of the ones I had. The older I get, the more I realize what looks best on me and what my true style is. So, when I pulled out a pair of red (bright RED!) shorts and another pair that felt more like underwear than pants, I knew it was time for a change. FYI: I haven't worn either of those in a very, very long time, but for some reason I was still holding on to them 'just in case.' (Just in case I ever went back to being 22 again??)
This black pair is the PERFECT length for me, and I love the fact that they can be cuffed or left flat. There is slight fraying at the hem and they do offer some stretch. They're high waisted (they hit at my belly button), so if that's not your thing, I'd stay away from this pair :) I found this neutral striped top while on the hunt for the shorts. It's very lightweight and perfect for layering. PLUS, I snagged it for less than $10, so it was kind of a no brainer! It does run big, so I would size down! (I'm wearing a small) I've received so many compliments on these sandals, which is great because I've been wearing them with just about everything. I got them last year for our Italy trip, and they've held up great! I linked a similar pair below since these are no longer available. I'm loving the "less is more" look lately, which is perfect heading into summer!
Where do you buy your shorts?? I'd love some recommendations on where to go next, so leave me a comment below! I hope you all have a great upcoming week :)
