A Lazy & Lunching Weekend

October 24, 2016

Shop This Look Here -> Trench Coat (mine's old, found similar) // Sweater (mine's old, found similar) // Jeans // Scarf // Ankle Boots // New Balance Sneakers

Hi friends! How is it already Monday?? Even though it flew by, Justin and I had such a nice weekend visiting with his parents.  We're always so happy when family and friends come to Lexington!  We knew they were only going to be here for one day, so we originally had planned to squeeze in as much as possible on Saturday.  Well, out of 3 or 4 things we put on the agenda, we only accomplished one and we were all okay with that! Haha! The weather has been beautiful here and we wanted to be outside to enjoy it. So, we decided to take my in-laws to one of our favorite eateries in the area: Wallace Station.

We were first introduced to Wallace Station soon after we moved to Lexington.  A friend of ours, who we relied on constantly for local restaurant recommendations, suggested this quaint spot with their {oh so amazing} sandwiches.  Side note - she now lives in St. Louis and has recently started an "everything local, travel, lifestyle" blog of her own, so be sure to check it out here!  It's not unusual for the line to be out the door when you arrive, but don't worry - it moves fast, and it's worth it!  They have tables available inside, but one of the best parts of the experience is snagging a picnic table outside on a beautiful, sunny day!  Completely surrounded by horse farms and located on the historic driving tour, I promise the scenery on your way there won't let you down either. We decided to head back to our house after lunch, and we watched the Purdue vs. Nebraska game. Purdue lost - whomp, whomp, whomp :( The remaining portion of the weekend was spent watching stand-up comedy on Netflix and eating...a lot!

As for my outfit, I wanted to be warm and comfortable.  Saturday was the chilliest day we've had this season, which was great for bundling up into fall essentials.  Justin and I started our morning with some errands, so I originally picked my go-to ankle boots.  I made a quick shoe change before heading to lunch into my other go-tos - these gray New Balance sneakers (they never fail me)!  I've been loving burgundy and plum colors this season, so I pulled this sweater out that I bought last year.  There are a few items I'm wearing that are no longer available, so I've linked similar pieces for you guys!

As bummed as I am that the weekend is over, I'm equally as excited to start this week because we have another fun weekend ahead! Don't worry - I'll blog about it :)  How do you spend your weekends?  Be sure to leave me a comment and thanks for reading!
