Show Your Support By Purchasing the #LexSpreadLove Shirt Here! Pre-Sale Ends 11/27 to Ensure Orders Arrive By Christmas.
The holiday season is here and as you can see, gift guides, recipes, and outfits have been in full swing here on Basically Bronwyn. While I love embracing every part of it, it's also a great reminder that there's more to the holiday season that we should all be part of; giving back to those in need, those in our community. So today, I'm beyond excited to share the Lex Spread Love campaign with you all!
The Lexington blogger community, or the #LexBloggerFam as we like to say, is one that I'm proud and blessed to be part of. On top of building real friendships with each other, we've also worked hard as a group on collaborations with local brands and businesses. And while each of those collabs have been fun and great opportunities, this campaign is particularly rewarding. Having a platform that allows me to inspire and/or influence others is something I don't take lightly; if I can make the smallest change for the good, then that's what makes this all worth it.
The #LexBloggerFam has teamed up with Bluegrass Script and Push Push Print to create the Lex Spread Love shirts and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center. In Kentucky, 1 in 9 adult women has been “forcibly raped” at sometime in her life, which totals more than 175,000 women. Almost 1 in 2 women (47%) and 19.6% of males in Kentucky are sexually victimized at some point in their lives (CDC, 2010). Approximately 51% of female rape survivors in Kentucky are physically assaulted and/or fear that they or someone close will be killed or seriously harmed (CDC, 2010).
Donations help fund critical programs such as the 24-hour crisis hotline, comprehensive clinical services (crisis intervention, therapy, and psycho-educational groups), legal and medical advocacy, community outreach to vulnerable populations, violence prevention and awareness education, and community engagement for systems change to reduce power-based personal violence.
If you take anything away from my blog this holiday season, I ask that you PLEASE contribute towards this cause. Whether it be purchasing the #LexSpreadLove shirt or you give a monetary donation to the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center, any little bit helps. I also encourage you to give back to your community this holiday season.
A big thank you to: Bluegrass Script (Designer/Sales Platform), Push Push Print (Shirt Screen Printing), Stella Sharpe (Video, Videographer/Product Photographer), Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center (Beneficiary)
